I'm going to try to replicate to a DR site server with Veeam 7 Enterprise. I don't have the plus version so no WAN acceleration for me. I have little faith in success so my other plan would be external hard drives.
The Veeam backup jobs go to a QNAP NAS and once they are complete we run the native QNAP backup of the Veeam folder to an external ESATA/USB drive. We rotate these drives and they go offsite daily. I want to be able to restore to a DR site using the external hard drive.
These are the files being backed up to the external hard drive.
Veeam support tells me it can’t be done using these files with Veeam that it would be a VMware thing. Can it be done with Veeam and how? If not what is the method that I need to follow to use these external hard drives to recover from?
