Currently we have a local file server with nightly backups with backup assit to removable drives that get cycled daily with a week old back stored at an employees home.
Im looking to replace the file server with a NAS since we are looking to expand the file server to support more storage space. Im also looking into either a archive of the NAS stored in a safety deposit box offsite or into a cloud based backup system neither will be retrieved often unless disaster recovery. I was leaning towards Amazon Glacier for the cloud archive but im open to other ideas.
One thing to also consider is we have 2 Hyper V servers hosting 7 VMs between the 2, We also have an exchange server, which dont appear to be backup.
Is there anything else i should be considering when i bring the final project to management? Also what should i do about employee mailboxes? i was considering archieving them to reduce the data usage on the exchange server or could i relocate the mailbox location to the NAS?
